Egg and Avocado Mash

Hard-boiled egg on its own is dry and crumbly for a baby; mashing it with a quarter of an avocado loosens it into a soft, spreadable lunch.

Instructions

  1. 1Lower 1 egg into boiling water and cook at a steady simmer for 10 minutes, so that both the white and the yolk are completely firm.
  2. 2Cool it under cold running water, peel, and check the yolk is set right through with no soft or runny centre.
  3. 3Chop the egg finely, then mash it with ¼ ripe avocado until the mixture is even and no dry crumbs of yolk are left.
  4. 4Slacken with a spoonful of warm water or your baby’s usual milk if it feels stiff.
  5. 5Serve soon after making, at room temperature, and supervise closely.
